MNL-Chapter 7

Chapter 7

            I looked up to see who was kissing me. It was Alex! He was giving me a really passionate kiss. I felt my cheeks turning red. When I looked over towards Jonathan he looked really upset.

            “As you can tell she doesn’t love you anymore. I kindly suggest that you leave her alone,” Alex said in a calm, cool, and collected voice. How could he be so calm when he just kissed me on the lips? My face was still red from the blush. Alex looked at me and started laughing. I didn’t understand why he kissed me. I guess it was to make Jonathan jealous.

            “Who are you to tell me to leave her alone? You don’t know her as well as I do. You’re just some punk kid who just moved here. How can you possibly know and understand her as much as I can?”

            “I can tell by her eyes that she doesn’t want to have anything to do with you. She told me what you have done to her. That is how I understand. I also have been getting to know her for the last couple of days. Aubrey doesn’t even love you as much as she used to. You can see that with every action. Why don’t you just go back to Michelle? I am sure she would love to see you. Don’t let me see you around Aubrey ever again. Just leave her alone.”

            Jonathan walked off with his shoulders slumped. He knew that everything Alex said was true. I looked up at Alex and I could see the pain in his eyes. I wonder what was going on with him at that moment.

            He let go of me when Jonathan was around the corner. My heart was racing and I realized I didn’t want to be out of his arms. His arms were so soft and warm that I could fall asleep in them. Wait, why am I thinking along these lines? It’s not like I have a crush on Alex or anything. Or do I? I really don’t know.

            “A-Alex,” I said with a stutter. I was still in shock from the kiss he gave me.

            “I’m sorry I kissed you like that. I was just trying to get Jonathan to stay away from you. I could see the pain in your eyes. I know he hurt you. I also knew that you didn’t want to be around him so I felt like I needed to save you. Don’t worry, I’m not going to do anything like that ever again,” Alex responded.

            “I’m just really shocked that you kissed me. You have really soft lips. They were softer than Jonathan’s,” I responded. Why did I say that out loud? Alex just smiled at me. I was a bit embarrassed.

            “You have soft lips as well,” Alex whispered in my ear. I could feel my body shaking. He was still really close to me. I really just wanted to grab him and kiss him again. I wanted to feel his lips on mine again. Ugh! I’m doing it again! I’m thinking about kissing him one more time! I really need to stop! I don’t understand why Alex would like someone like me.

            As we were leaving the school building we saw Jonathan and Michelle kissing. It was truly disgusting that he could tell me he loved me a few minutes ago and then go back to her. Oh well…I’m honestly over it. I really don’t care about him anymore. He never really cared about me or loved me. When Jonathan saw me he stopped kissing Michelle. He had a hurt look in his eyes. Why was it even there? He doesn’t care, does he? Alex and I just walked past them continuing our conversation.

            “I’ll see you later, Aubrey, I have to get going. See you in school on Monday,” Alex said.

            “Wait, Alex, do you want to hang out this weekend? I think it would be pretty fun to see each other outside of school. I will also invite my best friend, Nicole, and some of my other friends. Please, Alex, I really want you to meet them,” I asked while giving him the puppy dog eyes.

            “Alright, I’ll hang out with you guys. Here is my number so you can tell me where to meet you,” he said with a smile. I was really happy that he was going to go out with us! I was honestly excited!

            I heard my cell phone go off twice meaning that I had two text messages. One was from Jess and the other was from Nikki. I picked up my phone from my dresser. I was picking out clothes for tomorrow. I really didn’t know what to wear.

            “Hey Aubrey, what do you want to do tomorrow? I believe I’ll be able to go. I don’t have to go to my grandma’s tomorrow,” Jess said through text.

          “I want to go to the mall. I have someone else already coming with us. Are you up to going?”

            I honestly hated texting two people at the same time, but oh well. Nikki gets rowdy when I don’t answer her within in a couple of minutes.

            “Hey Aubrey, I’m down for going to the mall tomorrow. I have to go to my little brother’s soccer game first. I hate going to his soccer games, but oh well I am there to support him. You know how he gets when I don’t go.”

            “Yeah, I know how he can get. He loves you the most of everyone in your house, you know? He is adorable, Nikki, well except for when he acts up. He can get pretty annoying then. I’m glad you’ll be able to go. What time do you think the game will end?”

            My phone went off in the process of sending the message to Nicole. I still needed to send a text to Becky as well. She was fun to have around at the mall. She is a wild child when it comes to shopping.

            “Sure, I’m up to going. Is it going to be just me, you, Nikki, and Becky?”         

          “No, I’m inviting someone else to tag along with us. Be nice tomorrow! I know how you can be with new people, silly girl.”

          Nicole was fast at sending text messages. I hadn’t even gotten around to texting Becky. I needed to text her before I answered Nicole’s message.

            “Hey Becky, do you want to go to the mall tomorrow? You know we can’t party without the wild child,” I laughed after sending that.

            It took her a couple of minutes to message me back. She was normally just as fast as Nicole. Guess she was a bit busy.

            “Sure, I would love to. Just let me know a time tomorrow.”

            After that I stopped sending Jess and Becky texts. I wasn’t really in the mood to hear their normal banter.

            “The game will probably end around noon. I should be ready around then. I’ll talk to you a little bit later. My brother wants me to play a game with him! Bye!”

            I just left it at that. I was thinking about the events that happened earlier in the day. I still didn’t get why he kissed me. I could feel my face turning red just thinking about it. I wonder how much I’m going to blush when I see him tomorrow. I really hope I don’t because Nikki, Jess, and Becky will be around. They would think something is going on between us. I still feel he only did that to make Jonathan jealous.

            I heard a soft knock on the door. I got up, opened it, and my little brother was standing before me.

            “Hey sis, are you ready for dinner?

            “Yes, I am. Hey, Mace, do you want to go to the mall tomorrow?”

            “Sure, why not, I have nothing better to do anyway,” he responded. I ruffled his hair while walking down the stairs to eat dinner. The whole time we spent dinner laughing and having a good time. That’s the way it should be, but then something entered my mind. What if Jonathan and Michelle were going to be at the mall tomorrow?

nice, this chapter wasn't my favorite but i liked it more then anything with Johnathan&&&&&&&&& I think Alex likes Aubrey, why else would he kiss her? AHAA
