MNL-Chapter 8

This chapter isn't as long as the others, but oh well it's at least longer than the prologue.

Chapter 8

I woke up in the morning with a bright smile on my face. I honestly couldn’t wait to spend time with Alex outside of school. It’s going to be the first time that he his meeting my friends. I feel bad for him! I really hope that they don’t mind that I invited him!

I put Alex’s number in my phone last night. I just forgot to text him last night. I still couldn’t wait to see him. The image of him giving me kiss entered my mind. I could feel my face starting to turn red.

“Oh my goodness, I really hope this doesn’t happen at the mall,” I thought to myself. I really don’t want them to assume that Alex is dating me. It’s not like he liked me, right? I really cannot tell with him.

I decided to send him a text around eleven to give him an hour heads up. Also I don’t know what time he wakes up. “Hey Alex, my friends and I are going to the mall around noon. Is that alright for you?”

He sent me a text back about five minutes later. “That’s alright with me. See you then.”

I smiled and then went into my brother’s room. He was already up and dressed. That was pretty surprising since he normally goes to bed pretty late on the weekends. He normally stays up to play video games for all hours of the night. I liked video games too, but not as much as Mace does. My favorite games to play were Trauma Team and dance games. I can’t dance for my life.

“Hey sis, what’s up? Want to play some games before we leave? We can play whatever you want to. I didn’t feel like playing video games last night.”

“That’s pretty weird for you!”

“Yeah, I know, but I wanted to get up early. Video games are addicting, sis.”

“Yes, they are,” I responded. My brother set up the Wii so we could play. He put on Just Dance 2. We didn’t get the third one yet. I really don’t know if I want the third one yet.

We played a couple of rounds of before we stopped. I didn’t want to sweat too much. I just showered about an hour ago. I put on my favorite perfume afterwards.

My mother walked into my room. She had a huge smile on her face. “Sweetie, be careful while you’re driving. You will have your brother in the car. I know you are a really careful driver, but this is the first time your brother has been in the car with you.”

“I know, Mom, but I will always be careful with Mason around. I don’t want him getting hurt or killed,” I responded. You could tell that I love my little brother more than anything. He was the best brother a girl could ask for.

Mason and I left around eleven-thirty in the morning. The mall was about fifteen minutes away from my house. We were going to be the first ones to arrive. Becky was always the last one to arrive. She was the mall child. I really hated shopping for clothes. I shopped for books, movies, video games, etc.

While Mason and I were walking up to the mall entrance I spotted Alex. He was standing near the front door with his arms crossed over his chest. He looked bored out of his mind. It looked like he had been there for a while.

“Hey Alex, how long have you been here?”

“A couple of minutes, but that’s alright,” he responded. He looked over towards Mason. “Who is this?”

“Hello, I’m Mason, I’m Aubrey’s little brother. It’s nice to meet you, sir,” Mace responded politely while holding onto me. Mason was normally shy around strangers.

“Hey, I’m Alex, you don’t have to call me sir,” Alex said with a smile and shook Mason’s hand. I smiled as well and was happy that they were getting along. Nicole showed up a few minutes later. She had a really huge smile on her face.

“Hey Mason, I didn’t know you were coming today little buddy. Hey Bre, what’s up? I’m pretty surprised that the game ended early, but it started a little bit earlier than usual,” Nikki said. She looked over towards Alex and gave me a look.

“This is my friend Alex. Alex, this is my best friend, Nicole,” I said while he shook her hand and she smiled.

“Hello Alex, it’s nice to meet you.”

“Nice to meet you as well, Nicole,” Alex responded.

Ten minutes flew by before Jess and Becky showed up. They rode together which is a good thing. Alex introduced himself to them and then we were off shopping.

Of course as soon as we were having fun we ran into the stupid love birds. I wonder if Michelle and Jonathan were just there to smite me. I bet they overheard Alex and I talking yesterday.

“Hello, Alex, Nicole, Jess, Becky, Mason, and Aubrey,” the “wicked witch of the waste” said. I sighed and wondered why she was being so nice to me.

“What do you want,” Alex responded growling a little bit. I could tell he was a bit angry.

“We were just wondering if we could join your group,” Jonathan added in. I was shocked that he asked such a stupid question like that.

“How about, no,” we all exclaimed in unison. We didn’t want those two idiots joining our group especially since none of us liked them. Nikki, Jess, and Becky hated Michelle as much as I do. She tried to make their lives miserable too. The only reason is because they were my friends. Michelle never liked me. They really didn’t deserve that kind of treatment. Michelle was such a brat. I still didn’t understand what Jonathan saw in her. Alex hated her as well.

“Please, we promise to cause any trouble. We just wanted to hang out with you all. It is nice to see other friends,” they both said. They looked a little bit upset when we told them no. I was so glad that we were all in agreement.

“Who said anything about us being friends? None of us like you so why don’t you just go away,” I responded. After that they decided to just walk away. Everyone knew that they were going to just keep following us around. I could tell they were still pretty upset. Oh well they could get over themselves. None of us wanted them to ruin our day. We had so much fun. Alex got along well with everyone. The two love birds left us alone for the rest of the day. I didn’t even think about the kiss Alex and I shared the whole day. Don’t really need my friends to find out about that.
