Chapter 10

Alex tried the turkey chili and he was amazed at the flavor. That made me smile and I put the leftovers away. I killed the pot I used and then I went to lie in bed. I waited for Alex to come in the room. I knew he wasn’t in the mood to tell this story, but he wanted to let me know. We didn’t want to keep any secrets from each other.

Alex came in a couple of seconds later. He pinned me down. “Why are you pinning me?”

“You’re comfy to sit on when I’m telling stories.” He said and winked at me. I just laughed.

-Alex’s Story about him and Melody-

It was a couple of years ago that Melody and I were dating. My mom was getting ready for us to move here us away. It took longer than she thought it would because she was the only one working. We didn’t have enough money to move into the house yet. We put money on that house.

My mother told me that it would take a year or two before we could move. I nodded and went to school that day. All of a sudden I could see a girl getting picked on by another girl. She looked at me with her ocean blue eyes for help. I patted the girl that was bullying her on the shoulder. She turned around and looked at me. She smiled when she saw me because I knew she knew me. “Oh hey Alex, what’s up?”

“Why are you picking on this girl?” I asked her with a little bit of an attitude.

“Melody she was trying to steal Todd away from me. I didn’t want that to happen. She just moved here and she was trying to already steal my man.” The girl said giving attitude right back.

“You know that is no reason to go after the new girl. You don’t know if she was trying to steal him. Maybe she was trying to make a friend. Melody doesn’t look like the type of girl that would steal someone’s man. Why would you pick on someone if you didn’t know the facts? Why pick on anyone at all? That just makes you the bad person here! I think it’s best if you leave her alone.” I told her.

She just stalked off after I said that. I helped Melody up and she smiled at me. Her ocean blue eyes were starting to fill with tears. “Thank you so much for helping me. What’s your name? I know you know my name now because of her.”

“My name is Alex. Nice to meet you, Melody. I have to go for now. See you later.” I said and walked off.

“Wait, I’m in school with you. Can we walk together? You are the first person that has been nice to me before besides Todd. He said that he would try to talk to me as much as he could if he wasn’t with his girlfriend. I was only trying to make friends. This is my first year at this high school. It’s nice to meet you as well.” Melody said.

I just smiled after a couple of weeks or so Melody and I started dating. She was a pretty cool person back then. Before I knew it we were the cutest couple in school. I would defend her against anything.

After a while rumors started to spread around school. They were saying that Melody was sleeping around on me. She had more than one guy in her bed last night. It was starting to slowly eat at me. I knew I was going to confront her about it!

“Hey babe, what’s up?” Melody said coming up to me.

“Are the rumors true, Melody? Are you really cheating on me?” I asked her.

“Yes, they are true. I’m sorry. I was just looking for some fun. I knew I wasn’t going to get anything from you. You are too good a guy. I wanted to have a little fun.” Melody told me.

“How could you cheat on me like that? I am supposed to be your boyfriend. I wish you wouldn’t act like that!” I said to her.

“I’m sorry, but I knew I wouldn’t get any action from you. I wanted to have a good time. Not that I don’t think you’re amazing. I just needed to have some fun. I didn’t want to ask you.” Melody said. She knew that I didn’t believe in sex before marriage. I didn’t understand how she could just cheat on me.

“I want to break up. I don’t even want to see you again. You have hurt me and I don’t deal with people hurting me.” I said. I walked away from her. She looked like she was about to cry. I knew she was going to, but I wasn’t going to comfort her. I was glad that I was going to be moving away soon, but not soon enough. I had heard more rumors about her going around school. People were saying that she was pregnant. She slept with two more guys at one time. I just didn’t want to deal with someone like that.

“It’s wrong that she would even cheat on you. You are such an amazing person. I don’t think she was meant to be with you at all.” I told Alex.

“I felt so down after that. I knew that moving away would mean that I could get away from her. I didn’t want to even be bothered. I didn’t want my name tied with her anymore. Now I’m happy with the amazing girl that I have gotten married too.” Alex said and kissed me on the cheek. That made me smile wide.

“Why do you think she is coming after you now, Alex?”

“I think she’s jealous that I have found someone that loves me for me and that she has no one. She just wants to get attention. I don’t think you should pay attention to her. I think we should just get a restraining order against her.” Alex told me. He took the words right out of my mouth. He let me up after that and I remembered that tomorrow I had a doctor’s appointment with my prenatal doctor. I was going to be able to see the baby.

“I am going to get some rest. I have a doctor’s appointment in the morning. I get to see our little boy.” I said and smiled.

“Okay, goodnight babe.”

“Before I go to sleep I forgot to tell you that the baby kicked once.” I said.

He seemed to be happy about that. I knew I would be feeling a lot more kicks in the future.
