Chapter 12

“Well it’s a very long story.” I said.

“Okay, go ahead. I don’t mind long stories.” She said taking little Jonathon. He started to cry and reach out for her.

“Well okay so this girl comes and knocks on my door. She was looking for Alex, she ran into my house, jumped into Alex’s arms, and kissed him. I started to cry and Alex assured me that there was nothing going on between them. I knew I could trust Alex. Mason was over these days too so he made me feel better. Then we were out at dinner she came over to our table and started stuff with us. Alex told her that he didn’t love her anymore. He loved me. Then she came into my job…she told me that Alex was going over to her house. I got really upset. I talked to Alex. We had an emotional moment. He told me the story of when they got together to the time they broke up. Then she came over to my job and threw me into the wall. She was telling me to stay away from her man…who is mine now. I have been stressing over this, but I know I have to just trust Alex. I know he would never hurt me. I am worried about my baby too…everything I’m going through…it is putting stress on him.” I said looking down at the ground. I didn’t know what I was supposed to do. I was going to go to the police station and get a restraining order. Alex is supposed to go with me, but I don’t know if he will. He told me that he had to work tomorrow.

“That would really frustrate me. I am really angry that she’s been doing this to you. She seems like a stalker. Doesn’t she realize that Alex is taken? I mean he loves you. I doubt he would ever hurt someone as beautiful as you. I mean has this girl threatened you? If she has you can get a restraining order right away. I don’t know how someone could just do that to another person. She is stalking you everywhere. By the way when do you get out of work? I want to hang out more. I know you don’t have Nicole yet. Do you know when she is getting back?” Michelle asked me. Her baby started to cry. I guess he could sense that his mother was angry. She rocked him back and forth until he calmed down. He fell asleep as well.

“I know he loves me, but still…I have a bad feeling. She has been showing up everywhere I have been. She has even come into my job twice. We act civilized in public, but we are truly not civilized. She has threatened me. She said, “Stay away from my man or else.” I can’t help but wonder what she means. I don’t know when she is getting back. She hasn’t been able to talk to me. I know she’s going to be gone for another couple of days. I would love it if you could hang out with me more. I know it’s rough on you to hang out with the baby.” I said looking down at the floor. I didn’t have much to say. Michelle handed the baby to me.

“Can you watch him for a few minutes? I think I have something that will cheer you up. I’ll be right back.” Michelle said. She went out the front door. I think the baby could sense when his mother left. He woke up right away and looked around the room. He started to cry and I rocked him. He giggled up at me. I could tell he liked me. He started to cry again. I sniffed his diaper and I could tell that he needed a diaper change. I brought him into the bathroom, laid him down on a blanket, and started to change his diaper. He was crying when he lying down. I cleaned him up and put a new diaper on him. I picked him up and he seemed happier.

I bounced him up and down which made him giggle more. He seemed to be a happy baby. He grabbed at my finger. I smiled at him and he smiled back. I was happy that he was happy. I bounced him a little more. I could tell he was starting to get hungry. I grabbed a bottle out of his diaper bag. I heated the bottle up and checked it on my finger. It was warm enough for him to drink. He was going to be needed to be burped. When he was done I burped him. I put him down on the ground and he was walking around. I knew he was looking for mommy. I followed him out to where the guys were. He looked over at Alex. He started to giggle and walk over to him. Alex wasn’t really paying attention and almost kicked him. I grabbed him before he could get kicked. He was crying in my arms.

“Alex, you almost hit Jonathon.” I said to him.

“Awe, I’m sorry little guy.” He took Jonathon into his arms. Jonathon still wasn’t calm yet. Alex made a funny face at him. He giggled, but he still reached out for me. I took him back into my arms. I knew he wanted a female to hold him. Alex just smiled and went back to watching the game. Michelle came back in a couple of seconds later. Jonathon said Mama. I knew he could talk now. I knew he could just say a few words. I put him down and he walked towards Mommy. Michelle smiled at him and took him into her arms.

“Was he any trouble?” She asked.

“He wasn’t, but he did just eat. Jonathon was looking for you when you left though.” I said.

“Mommy’s sorry she left you.” She said. He just smiled in response. He fell asleep a couple of hours later. I put him in my room on my bed. I put him in the middle. Michelle and I were in the room with him. She went to the store and bought ice cream for us to share. She also bought some nail polish. This was totally going to make me feel better. I was happy by the end of the night.
