What is Goodness?

Just some musings. A really short paragraph that is truly a school assignment in disguise.

Is goodness not having a single evil thought in one's mind? Is it perhaps having occasional evil thoughts, but never showing it? Can someone, after committing a crime or evil deed, renounce their evil and become a genuinely good person? Or does one evil thought, or one evil deed, make goodness impossible? Perhaps.

I don't believe in the concept of good or evil, by the way. I think those two words aren't definitive in any way, but instead reflect a society's view.

Christians like to call things good and evil, and their ideas of what good and evil is are pretty black and white. Society in America takes after these ideas, though. I just think it's interesting.
