Forest Walk

Poem written when I was a teenager

As I walk in the forest

I see visions of you

amongst the shadows.

As I walk in the forest

I see what was and is

without you by my side.

I ask myself why...

Why things went wrong

But no straight answer 

flows through my sorrow.

The light in the forest 

Grows dim.

But still I think

of what was not true...

(The love between me and you)

Now as the light grows dimmer

Memories of you and I

disappear into the night sky.

As I walk through the forest

I see someone...

Not like you...

Just better!
