The other side of lightA Poem by eglantine
She believed in the color white,
the smoothness of a coconut milk bath, beneath the bone-moon, crisp with fresh light. Apricot slices, untouched, on a porcelain plate, full glass of pinot grigio and an unread letter sat on her grandmother's vanity . The envelope read: Ma cherie She didn't believe in red, the smoothness of a rose petal bath, beneath the blood-sun, hot with ripe steam. Apple cores, brown with air in the wastebasket, wilted kleenexs and a broken hell on the bathroom floor. And she cried: Mon cherie! © 2013 eglantineFeatured Review
