She Paced Back & ForthA Poem by nicola.
She paced back and forth,
An apron tied round her slim waist, Her hands deep in her pockets, Her mind deep in thought. A plate of uneaten bacon, Butter long melted in the grits, Not only was the coffee missing, But her lips were missing a kiss. Fond memories long forgotten, Worsened by the stranger in her bed, The children's father, just a shadow, Their mother's heart, misled.
