Janus-tongued

Janus-tongued

A Chapter by Eilis

The seed slept dormant for decades
as around the flowerless body
a full-head of brambles grew
thick enough to cover the earth.

Well done, Ellis. The title is finely tuned. This is my kind of wild -- as the two-headed Janus god of doorways and portals might praise. Wildness comes as a mirrored perspective of contentment when cultural trappings give way to transition. With duty done and best ability served, we rest in serenity as our portal closes, ignoring what brambles invade our space. Contentment is the realm of a happy soul. I will follow you for a time unless I get lost in the brambles. My own postings await view and review. Thanks -- Doug

Ok at a time such as this I rue the day I failed to take an interest in the classics! I have to say this seemed, to my perverted mind to have a heat to it in a lovely intellegent poem of class.

Ha! Well, John, a poem can be about anything a person wants it to be, I think. Thanks for reading.
awesome title/ poem, precise and succinct , last couple of lines really tickled my Janus tongued smouldering slightly burned hands, the buried seed has spoken, plunging for vagaries, indeed, great poem, Eilis,
