ASSASSINATION!

 

 

When you define the word assassinate it means to kill suddenly and destroy
It's almost always done secretly, and treacherously; with no joy
That is what you did to me, when I came home tonight
I couldn't have imagined this betrayal; I never saw this night

 

You assassinated me suddenly when I came into my home
Never in a million years, did I think you wouldn't be alone
You could have done this gracefully and told me you wanted me gone
But you did your crap deceptively and let him in our home.

 

With premeditated audacity, you laid him in our bed
Did you even think of me?  Was I even in your head?
You were "Pandarus" in your actions, malicious in your strife
I never saw this coming, not from my precious wife!

 

You claim "you weren't expecting me"
You act like I give a damn!  What is there to argue?
You gave yourself to this man!
"I thought you'd be gone all night!"
Your word cut through me like a knife!
What the Hell did you expect!
This is my home!  My Life!  My Wife!

 

Jesus, I have to get out of here before I do something dumb
I find my eyes looking to the closet...Thinking about my gun!
I can feel anger overtaking me! So I need to get out of this Hell!
You chose tonight to murder me, and girl you did your job well!
So now I have to get away from you before I catch a case.
You saw in me a cuckold; now all I see in you is waste!

I really loved the rhythm and the pace of this poem, the anger and the pain felt through the lines. The rhyming of the lines was also a great touch.

This has a venting mold to the whole read...the theme is felt by those in the background reading the lines of this work...you let everything go with tact and yet leave the situation without causing bodily harm as the title renders this verse...I still see you like the rhyme scheme...since this is a more ventilation type of write...I would of done this free verse...give everything for what its worth...

I admit that this cheating kind of confuses me a little sometimes - but I think you get across quite a lot of shock and anger here.
