SOMETIMES I DONT FEEL LIKE A WRITER

I wrote this to expel some inner demons I have about my writing.

 

Sometimes I don't feel like a writer! 
I don't think people get what I say. 
I don't think I convey a good message. 
I feel like I waste good people's day.

Writing relaxes me and alleviates my stress. 
Yet, I still find myself asking: 
"Who cares that I wrote this mess!?" 

I don't write to boost my ego.
I am not looking to hear positive chimes. 
I just want to know there is a real purpose! 
A reason this gift haunts my body and mind! 

I try to write down my passions.
Yet, people can't take hold of my joy.
Secretly I feel alone and disregarded.
A inner pain I've felt since I was a boy. 

So many times I've tried to stop writing. 
I'd drop my pen and just walk away.
Then that addiction in my mind starts to whisper.
I am back to writing before the end of the day. 

What the Hell is wrong with me? 
Why can't I accept what I create is all good? 
I don't know but I just keep on writing. 
I think maybe someday I will be understood.

Shakespeare didn't write to be accepted, he wrote never flinching if anyone grabs it...he knew someday somehow everyone will understand it. Write on, people might not get the idea now, doesn't mean they'll never one day get an idea :D

I understand exactly what you are saying. When I wrote this I was going through a funk. I was feeling like no one was reading or understanding anything I wrote. I finally realized that the writing is only half for them. Its something a lot of writers go through. I wanted to share that. :)
