I LOVE AMERICA

God Bless America!

 

 

If I were truthful about America I'd say I love her (Stripes and all)
She's a very faithful girl and will be there when you call
If I were truthful about our relationship; I guess I'd say I love her charm
Many have tried to hurt her but she still extends her arm
She is glamorous and enchanting; sometimes feisty, firm, and fair
She is captivating and invoking; especially when she lets down her hair
Like anyone she has her problems; a few blemishes she needs to fix
Yet she never lets her hurts fester she always tries to deal with it
No she is still my passion and I suspect she will always be
Her compassion makes me happy; and her spirit keeps me free

Let us hope she stays as she was. I for one am not happy with the way things are going in this country. Being spied upon is not what i thought we stood for. Torturing prisoners is another thing that really bothers me. If ever we see an American killed on our soil by a drone strike I will really be dismayed. Who have we become?I love our country But dont love what it is becoming.i am old enough to remember the freedoms we once took for granted. Pray we stop this foolishness. If we ever give up our rights for security It will mean the end of our way of life. The poem reminds me of the country I grew up in So changed now form what we once knew.Just my opinion.But I too am like you in that I love America as well.
