EDGE OF OBLIVION

Take the moment

 

At the edge of oblivion is a moment of contemplation
A time to reflect on the depths of your situation
A moment of choice before you plummet into the abyss
You can forget all the love and the things you will miss
You can tie on your noose, or load up your gun
Pull down all your curtains to block out the sun
However, just before tribulation takes its final toll
You will have just a moment to reflect on your soul
Remember the people who love you for who and what you are
Remember the peaceful times in life before all your scars
Use that graceful moment to look love and sanity in the face
Focus on all these positives before you make one last mistake
Fan those small sparks to rekindle faith's inner fire
Heat up your inner hope so it can ignite your lost desire
On the edge of oblivion is where all men will one day stand
Only held from death's embrace by love's faithful hand
