Light On The Back Of Failed Love

Light On The Back Of Failed Love

A Poem by Eddie Phillips
"

Real love heals old wounds, restores trust, and brings light back to hearts dimmed by past disappointments.

"

Is it strange to see light on the back of failed love again?
Should I hope for a dawn after a night that refused to end?
Your love is a warm zephyr cutting through life’s bitter wind"
You inspire me to be better, to love with abandon again.

When love turned its back, you were my only friend.
You bathed me in your light and gave my heart room to mend.
We fought my darkness together, though my faith was paper-thin"
You encouraged my patience when life's storms grew loud and wouldn’t end.

I found your light on the back of failed love again.
Past lovers claimed it before, but it turned out to be a lie in the end.
But your light didn’t flicker or fade when my hope was wearing thin"
You held me and loved me to show that love isn’t false or pretend.
You proved wounds could heal when your lover holds you so you don’t break again.
