LOVE -The true meaning

We each have our own definition. What is your slant?

      

                        LOVE - The true meaning

Misunderstood ~ over or undervalued

Can be ... constructive or destructive.

For good ... for bad.

Love of - man or woman, country or things,

can ... build, create, relate, emancipate or

                      decimate.

Treat it cautiously, sensibly ~ it will

                work in your favour.

Our life, our future depends on it!

In the bigger picture, we may ask,

"What is your definition of love?"

You may say, " Love makes the world go round!"

But in reality it can be the cause of evil intent,

          in crooked minds ~ evil, bent!

Love contrasts with hate all over the world...

where greed, power struggles are the source of

                           discontent...

causing the destruction of what once was a 

         beautiful and loving space.

LOVE is over simplified, taken for granted ~ most times.

Love can be beautiful, endearingly exciting ~

            have you ever tried it?

Each of us interpret these four letters differently. It would be interesting to get short definition of its meaning.

I couldn't even begin to interpret love. I can't put a definition on it kitty, but I can feel it. Yes, I feel it strongly and I know it is love. However I also know that there are different types of love and some of them aren't healthy. Obsessive love is destructive. Your poem is well written, thought provoking and I will be keeping my eye on your other responses. All good wishes kitty.

Thanks for dropping by Christine. Hope the weather is Kind to you. I say on love that some of us have unreal expectations of what we perceive as 'Love'. We get disappointed when things don't work out as expected and the love on offer is not reciprocated. We might feel bitter and throw tantrums. The best example of real love is the type found in animals... devotion, dedication, loyalty and care ~ unselfish and true. Will keep my eyes open too!
