HAUNTED

By a variety of things. looking back we chose which we want to erase from our memory but as they say, 'it's easier said than done!'

                        HAUNTED ...

by love - love of you 

got to give up - best thing to do!

Marooned on 'Love Island'

the hurt goes on - must be strong!

Mentally prepared - have to let go

         friends have said so!

Nature must now play its part -

help me along the way - give me a fresh start.

Life with you was the greatest fantasy.

Days are now good: clouds are drifting away

sun's shining through: the path is clear.

Friends rally round - on common ground-

give comfort and support - be in your corner

when you are 'on the ropes' and defeat is near.

The doubts will still be there, you will be...

'haunted' by the memories that want to linger on!

really like this, kitty...
yes, it takes time to get over the hurt, the pain of losing someone for whatever reason....and it takes time to start over again...there will be doubts that others might have to suffer through with us, but if they are patient...we can overcome those doubts and love again.
a very moving write, with nice use of the nature metaphors.

Hello kitty my friend. Your poem will be relatable to many people who have suffered a loss, either through a breakdown of a relationship or death of a loved one. That pain suffered and the memories can indeed play constantly on the mind, haunting your living hours. It all has to be worked through and that is where patience is required. Your words are touching to read and many will understand. Good to see you posting something new. All good wishes.
