You Made Me a RomanticA Poem by elioaksA sonnet. I admit, I'm not much of a poet, but I do enjoy trying my hand at poetry every once in a while. You made me a Romantic, darling, though I do not wish to seem full of myself, My mind, which once rocked back-forth, to and fro, Is now filled with love and lexical wealth. Do not tell me I was always this way, For I am most certain that I was not. Through my efforts to convince you to stay, Humbly, I say, I’ve been aptly self-taught. But I can’t take all the credit, my dear, Clearly, you have taught me much more by far. To love, to dance, to take down my veneer Moreover, you’re impossible to mar. Still, your beauty and allure are reachless. I’m a Romantic, yet I’m left speechless. © 2017 elioaks |
