Mrs Cat in the Hat

A poem I wrote, inspired by one of my favorite poets Carol Ann Duffy and her collection 'The World's Wife'.

I once adored your peculiar style,

I fell for your spontaneity. 

The way your hat was striped

In peace, power and purity,

Yet your blood boiled with irresponsibility.

 

You criminal.

Your input has always been minimal.

 

A fully grown cat,

an anarchist getting away with it.

Torturing the sanctimonious fish.

It's utter nonsense -

You make me look a complete twit.
