You in Me

You in Me

A Poem by Elvis Gilley
"

A true look at the inside of man.

"

Mirror of truth

tell me no lies

look far beneath these hazel eyes

Reflect an image

tell the truth about me

Show me a mirror image of us all to see

Wavy hair

uniquely styled

settle in for this soulful journey may take a while

Radiant glow

of youthful skin

I am a glorious prince among men

Yet there is something

I must question

or perhaps I should not mention

When faced with life

and the problems therein

I do wonder if I am a friend

Oh, am I loving

to those in need

or am I superficial as I've so often perceived.

So as I stand

before the mirror today

only one question comes my way

When sin test me this day

whom will I see?

I only pray it is the You in Me Lord.
