Acting Up

Acting Up

A Poem by Emma Cathryn

Just close my eyes,
blow out the light.
Everything
will
     be
         all right.
My heart aches
as my eyes close,
assuming that
I'm already letting go.
Well I'm not,
hard as it may be
to keep you near me.
Life would be
and seem
so differently.
Fingers shake
as love begins to crack
and hearts continue
to ache
and your beat just goes
smack smack smack
back in your chest.
I've already bled,
if not all the rest
of words unsaid,
sleeping
there to never rise
a
 bove.
I'm melting
slowly in my dimise.
Goodbye hopes
of being a graceful dove.
Knees then fall
past the freezing mist.
Life is lost,
hidden within the bliss.
