dawn

dawn

A Poem by emmajoygreen

she lies
 curled, calm
an angelic ammonite on
a windswept beach
lost in history
 dawn smiles
hand searches
finds
a gentle heart
peacefully sleeping
palm holds
remembering
an unknown avian sentry
warm in a blush
of dreams
love calls
with tidings across
golden shores, green meadows
yesterdays touch
forever

A lovely portrayal of dawn painted with soft colors and a peaceful tone. It readily brings up visual images of nature's beauty and serenity

Special.. one of the most beautiful gifts..
A marvelous description of a scene from a movie, so real that I felt I was there looking at the Jurasaic coast and the lapping waves, finding treasures after my stroll.

With care and patience, you might find treasures too, Sami. Over the years have found all sorts!

OMG! You are right. I found treasures in our friendship and your poetry so to speak.

Lyme Regis is within a lovely scenic location, and sometimes referred to as a "beauty spot". In decades past, I have been once or twice.

A beach can be windswept one day, and then remerge - almost as if unsullied; on warm sunnier days. Much can happen too, on a spartan beach; as it passes through the days. Careless tourists at play, dogs walked and more.

Some moonlit nights, even lovers or solitary walkers may grace the shoreline or beach area; in awe at our earth's natural intrinsic beauty.

This is lovely, and pure poetry to read. With just a few lines, you have managed to express some alluring sentiments.

Belated but sincere thank yous for such a kind and understanding review, sir.
There’s always an atmosphere of solitude on the beach, rhythmic in its waves, and an air of clear thinking maybe it’s the salt. Fine writing as always.

Wow! I'm a fossil lover, been interested since I was little, and my grandfather, Papa Lindsey, took us on expeditions to look for them. Now I have another reason to visit England! Imagine having a British ammonite on my coffee table. How cool would that be?
I've said for as long as I can remember that if I could choose to be any animal, I would be a seagull... floating wherever I wanted, soaring above the waves, eating all that free seafood! Someone's "avian sentry wam in a blush of dreams"
