Working night shift, rarely seeing family...those few moments of interaction and then
sleeping by the fire...sometimes life just meets coming and going as do the people in it.

Your last thirteen words say it all, dear friend. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
What a lovely snapshot of the birth of a new day inside the kitchen of my mind You always give just enough to make my imagination stir about:) Of course, being the bunny I have to ponder the lines and ask myself if she was painting an old memory or if it was just her imagination at work:/

The machinegun observations most of us experience, but take no time to notice, are more important than we know. They are the essence of life, and we no longer appreciate the job our eyes do so well. I read one time that Cubism arose when the roads in and around Paris were paved and automobiles became common... at thirty miles per hour all we see are shapes and colors, the beautiful details of Victorian gingerbread became irrelevant as Picasso and the others were quick to point out. It is a refreshing thing for us when we slow down and wonder why the birds are quiet, the fatigue of our loved ones, "Breasted hills reveal orange-coral
life is improving by the minute"
all in the midst of
"Frantic brushing, crazed movements"
I love your eye, your style...

Again - and belatedly, thank you for such kindness

I like the style, short snapshot images. They bounce from one scene to the next telling the story. The stanza "Breasted hills reveal orange-coral
life is improving by the minute"
was a wonderful line. All in all the brief glimpses of each scene gave me the sense of sleepy eyes and morning with the passing of time.

The up and downs of a working family crafted in a beautiful scene of an ordinary day...your words are what makes this so real... they pop out like flowers in a painting....at day end at last a minute's time to think and rest....stunning Emma

A beautifully painted picture in words yet again Emma, of a day in the life of so many, just waking and sleeping to a new dawn.

What a scene you created with your words. Four tired girls wearing school uniforms and wishing they were not at the breakfast table. Mom arranging the day for everyone and Dad coming home after the night shift. A very real poem, Emma. Life as it is in many homes around the world. Lydi**
