I rememberA Poem by emmajoygreenI remember another day - laid discretely in the PAST dust swept under the mat, its corners neatened, PAIN prevented we had watched leaves fall - gold, bronze - in true metallic LINGERING grey squirrel's tail, buffed full, had cheered then leaped from here to there, THEN back again its pirouette flew to a blackbird's song, his opus to DAWN large stones laid a dam, stream STILLED - a duet of rays lit the moment water voles swept away old grass from their door - off away to the breeze, A NEW baptism across the SKY the famed Artist highlighted the day's coming bounty breathing BECAME easier, smiles began to shine, grannies said their 'Hail Marys' children loudly awoke, cats mewed milky whiskers, dogs barked their incontinence - kettle sang SWEET and the day's tomorrow knew that MOMENTS pass on memories we never truly forget some may curl the dew upon bare feet, some may yawn waking new-born, quite a few will BREATHE IN or start up their coughing, jump from bed or just SIT thanking the day for ANOTHER CHANCE
