Lakes .. and peace from ..

Lakes .. and peace from ..

A Poem by emmajoygreen

Is there a rule that says
one may not create a list of
not do, not feel, not dream a dream that
keeps its eyes open night after
love gone wrong?

Has government legislated
emotions ripe right in parliament
but - to be left under a dusty door mat
for an unrelentless future of
goodness knows why?

Might we agitate limbs in life
in a free land of will or - won't
rationing steps as if rhythmic musica
for a dancing Italian lake
in 'andiamo' song?

Politics have little  reason
to sing their offbeat rhubarb an'
blah  at a time when, who knows,
the Summer might shine,  perhaps say,
'See you later, have  a good day'

Brief mentions of Italy amid politics is the finest way of offering a tasteless feast!

Politics makes my head hurt. Both sides have gotten out of control. It's more about egos than Americans

There are rules for everything, including no doubt somewhere buried in the statute mountain a rule for how to regulate love with a properly written rule; and I I can pretty much guarantee that there are those walking amongst us who earnestly believe everything can be regulated.

I think the trick is to divorce politics from the reality of living one's life; after all, as you so succinctly point out, 'tis mostly rhubarb and blah!

Enjoy the summer. Beccy X
