meagre thoughts - but mine!

meagre thoughts - but mine!

A Story by emmajoygreen

Once upon a time there were letters muddled
thoughts befuddled and other letters that
would rhyme similarly if
they could think this time of a Summer's night when
there isn't too much light in that rainbow balloon
sat precariously on the scalp - and, what's more, spot-lit.
Inhale.

Inhale deeply.  Look in mirror, check the colour of your skin.
Lips pink, cheeks flushed, eyes bright, chin etched like marble?

Lucky you, my dear - life's still bartering time with your expectation!

We sift the dross, turn to the right - shimmy the floor,
take a chance as life means us to do.. twiddle thumbs
see what excitement comes, (or not!)
sink back on your heals then,
listen to those
sounds of delight in the night
remember?

Time lazed, eyes glazed, language altered its meaning
seems it's choice raised  its voice when chosen!
Denials refused,  sense and sensibility somewhat abused
lips full, mind sensitive.. remember!

Starshine divine, twinkle little star -
you might be higher where you are
but you can be found if wanted, nothing daunted -
just ask with a smile, a wink,
a thought is all that's sought.

Pretence was a ploy, language a toy
six years passed, seen, found, at last
wrapped in wonder by one  - if not
the other!
Time loses track, never go back because
there will be a lack of
transmission in remission..
says everyone's trump-card -
heart especially!

You read me because you can and - understand, bless you with smiles! Thank you so very much red93!
Whilst I do not understand all the complex yet beautiful allusions in this poetry, it calls me as something extremly personal to you the writer. I am so enamoured of it and its many textures.
