THE HAPPY PATH

THE HAPPY PATH

A Story by emmajoygreen
"

Just a thought - a simple one at that!

"
PERHAPS FROM January 1, 2025, we could all try our very best to walk the HAPPY PATH.

THAT by holding out a GENTLE HAND to anybody who needs one.

EVERY so often a he or she will wander the Cafe's hall like a horner rooster or similar, declaring prowess with the letters..  If a being has to brag, it's more ego than skill.

TRUTH is:  anybody or bodies who know(s) A from Z has/have the ability to incubate magic of a simple kind.

THAT  is, from a sudden thought that says.  ' This has to come into the world without fear or worry about another person  ripping it apart.

A KIND HAND will and should be, surely - just that, KIND.

ARROGANCE and CYNACISM has little value:  it deters a glimmer of light from filling the heavens.

So says someone whose light will fade.. and fade ..  until it goes out!  :)

This is a humbling and uplifting read because it is true and pure. I'm not good at being happy. I am not unhappy, but I am not a happiness spreader. I know it is good to be a happiness spreader though, and that genuine happiness spreaders are rare and to be treasured.
As always, I also read in a subjective way. 'The happy path' for me is usually a green lane, or a track in a beech wood in the Chilterns, ideally dry, still and cool. For perfection i need to be on it on my own. I don't know why. That said I never feel alone on my own. And the presence of others can distract. So my happy path usually involves solitude.

To each his or her own, sir. Real emotions - ones we keep to ourselves, reflect us as human beings... read more
When I was younger, my poems were a brilliant reflection of myself -- they were clumsy, poorly constructed, uncertain and took up no space simply because they didnt have the heart to claim it. My art was sloppy at best, but it was mine, and I loved it. I carried that ore with me as I grew, refined it, polished it, gave it the beating heart that it deserved. My work needed chest compressions -- and I never stopped delivering them.

During my time on the cafe when I very first started out, I was subject to alot of critical gazes, brutal reviews, and kept under the watchful eye of old men who swore I was just here to either get them in trouble or ruin the Cafe and its "upstanding reputation for being a source of true artwork." I was so discouraged, being reduced to ridiculed jailbait rather than an artist who just needed time to become intimate with her own work.

Here I am, a decade or so later, and while I am not a legendary writer, I can admit that I have come leaps and bounds from where I was. I learned how to channel my thoughts into a suave tango as opposed to a fumbling grind, found new and improved ways to say what I wanted without being overly direct. I fell in love with my work, my potential, and more importantly, stopped caring so much what people who didnt know me thought I was capable of. Constructive cristism is always welcomed and utilized. Harsh words and browbeating? Not so much.

I feel as though I see more good than bad here, but I cannot deny the bad exists. You speak a truth that we all should know, yet perhaps, some have forgotten. Not only that, but you have done it beautifully, creating a waltz of your own that is both easy to follow and a joy to read. I pray it acts as fire and gasoline for knowledge we all should've already been using. A gentle read that feels like a kiss to the reader's forehead. I appreciate this -- and you -- so much.

What I get from this offering is that in our writing and in our lives we should adopt a more positive, sensitive approach. We should employ kindness and tolerance in our writings and in our reviews. Sounds like a sound approach to me.

New Year is the time you decide. And the happy path is the path you decide. Life can always be rough or kind, and so can people. May the path you choose always be kind. I hope everyone holds good hands. Thanks for writing. I can feel your hope and light even from beyond the screen.
