all about..

all about..

A Poem by emmajoygreen

whatever and surely whenever - could never doubt more of star-shine heaven. It needs a name beautiful as is..  methinks..  'the all about'

is the windowless air where the grass is far too dry, earth cracking jokeless blessings about the mighty Quercus Robur

oak is this country's deeply rooted king, staring at heaven where wood - oft hung on hinges, barks sincere greetings to the pearly gates

there too where saplings inhale to sing sweet carolines rapt by silver blades, shimmering in the too hot Summer - unwanted

clay streams gild breath to their source of spring sprung calling 'come fill the chalice lying at the foot of altered weather'

an' rather than drift silver 'neath sweat dripped from branches of what you might climb, butterflies shade in the shrubbery

young lovers cool their ardour with cones dripping cream on palms from which - lips lick laugh about whatever will be a prize

'Fingers knead an' thumbs make use of the unspoken, sez farmer Prim  - recalling past harvests spent against many a tractors' reflections

in the growth of unjust politics, weather men tell of the Summer hereabouts saying.. would you believe - it is the hottest on flaming record

that said, small children don't care - waves tickle their feet, crabs skitter sand an' dads enjoy memories of routing streams twards high tide

then - know you, rather than waste purity,  silver glitters over-across clay streams, fish finning glorious in happy splish-splashes - why not, but

life could be in cage, perched afore a misted mirror, life hid within its tears inside out of my deepest desire: you

close by green leaves wave the world of birds singing either lieder or blues in a time when fledgelings' first adventure the all about

I love how you move from the rooted strength of the oak to the playful, intimate moments of children and lovers, yet thread it all with a sense of wonder and fragility.

Thank you so much, Neha agrawal - you 'say' the kindest things about my scribbles. Wishing you all.. read more
This may not be all about, but I reckon it is partly about the majesty of nature and life, as well as what we have done to make it at least more uncomfortable to live and enjoy it, despite our best intentions of prosperity for a select few who for the most part have only their self preservation in mind when we could have been so much more.
Such beauty I'm your words of the mighty oak, that even in death has its uses to protect our fortresses as well as giving us somewhere to rest our elbows while eating, as we ponder what could perhaps be what birdsong is and always has been... a plea of "Stop! What the he'll are you doing?"
Okay, that last bit may be a stretch, but until I hear it from Mr or Mrs feathers mouth myself, I'll believe those bird brained feathered delights might just know more than we think we do.
Perhaps we will regret not leaving those trees to their view of the all about!
