condemnation comes in waves of misconception

no matter youthful learner or lessening power of arms,
no matter agility or fingers' frustrating rheumatics

we inch across space to reach, to touch - smiling or
sighing - requesting acceptance, affection, any - all

or - needs be, softly steal because empathy might tilt
free as a wind when kindness cares an'

truth whispers: 'Each of us are human beings born.'

captures the true feeling and fears of our reach towards our fellow man - would that we understand the necessity of continuing the efforts knowing the need inside of us is true for all. -carl

I feel this. We stumble and still reach—hands stiff, hearts open—asking to be seen. Let empathy tip the scale, let kindness be the wind. Underneath it all, the quiet truth remains: we’re human, and that’s enough.

How very true, Tiffany - thank you.
Tesla said something about vibrations... and frequencies, and I am sure that waves of misconception come with condemnation. I find it amazing that science is beginning to assume the universe is conscious, and each of us a consciousness in God's likeness, "no matter agility or fingers' frustrating rheumatics." We are not what we eat, we are what we think. We are not what we feel, either, but we are how we integrate All those filaments into whole cloth...

Hi.... Your piece is meaningful.....“Condemnation Comes in Waves of Misconception” is a moving reflection on the shared fragility of the human experience. With tender imagery and quiet honesty, it reveals how every soul- whether strong or fading - longs for acceptance and understanding. The poem’s gentle rhythm and aching truth remind us that behind every struggle lies the same beating heart seeking compassion. It is both a whisper and a cry for empathy - profoundly human, beautifully vulnerable.

A soft, heartfelt poem. The first line is particularly poignant and then....truth whispers. Plenty to ponder on here. Good Job.

This one's deep. Yeah, at times even borrowed / stolen attention is enough to get us by. Well written. ~Jim

This poem is an elegant dismantling of the "borrowed" affection economy!
It is the perfect, beautiful condemnation that arrives in waves of misconception, because the whole enterprise of human connection is simply an attempt to inch across space regardless of whether your fingers are agile or riddled with frustrating rheumatics or arthritis. Think of the arthritis, my dear.

The brilliant insight here is that truth whispers the completely unhelpful phrase, 'We are all... human,' precisely at the moment the affection you need tilts free as the wind. This means that acceptance and company operate on a system of zero-interest, voluntary loaning, but they must be chased down anyway! even if you have to steal them!

The poem reveals that all our physical limitations (youthful length to lessening arm power) are merely distractions from the final, unified goal: ensuring that the willingly given affection doesn't accidentally become stolen by a rogue breeze of humanity. It's a wonderful, wind-swept surrender to our shared, flawed condition.

My tea kettle sneezed.

Emma, I love how this poem captures the delicate, fleeting nature of human connection.

Being "free as the wind" beautifully conveys how affection and companionship move beyond control or expectation, yet remain essential to our shared humanity.

I’m struck by the way you acknowledge both vulnerability and resilience; reminding us that, despite misconception or limitation, reaching out and connecting is a deeply human act.

Yes we are. Some More so than others perhaps, but that is another barbecue of fish altogether.
Sometimes people just need a guiding arm to help balance or a comforting hand to hold. Both of these things have one thing in common, touch... Although it doesn't always have to be physical, but the reassurance that there is a steadier hand to reach to touches more than skin and can be felt right down to the heart and soul.
I only hope the younger generation take heed and be better than my generation were, although there are some good 'uns in every generation, no matter what others think.
We are all the more human especially in time of need and no matter how stubborn we become by insisting we can cope.
