HELL and AI

HELL and AI

A Story by emmajoygreen

ONCE UPON A TIME..

there was a small planet housed by a palette of beings who -  at first, used their limbs to show what they thought and felt.

Grunts and yells, stutters and speechifying noises gave one to another and another and another a kindness of sweet, explicit, advisory and empathic gifts, a way to  share letters - only twenty six - please note, but so magnificent they produced wonders in a way that the Past would have never once believed. These signs became a word called lanwidge.. landgwidge,  language.. ..

In and via its myriads of sound and spelling it allowed freedom.  Humans began to make sounds as they explored their lands by walking every  conceivable path - whether scalding hot or freezing cold.

People learned to bend their mouths into sound  and pleasurable poses plus, blow signs of  affection by placing fingers to lips and blowing sweet air to everyone they met who did the same whilst explaining the glorious of Life. .

As happened with bright eyes and curved lips, the planet began to use its pleasurable times with,  at first - items called  burned wood:  charcoal, fingers dipped in wode then, marks on anything able to absorb pressure, anything legible (that a word to explore - if you will)  Finally things called Pens and Pencils. But as their minds used their magically discovered brain-power they created tools and instruments that gave their world a giant drift of pleasure: by the use of Mankind's
desired purpose.

For many years, explorations was made to find the way to share what had become language - a  strange word but said in very sounds in all places within and upon the planet.  Many of its residents learned their neighbours' words and thus friendship began to seep into peace.. until.. others used the same in a warlike way and thus began a giant problem that even to this day holds animosity amid contacts far and wide of space. BUT is said that peace will prevail - if we take the true path

Now it seems there is another fear, an enemy that would alter the being of Mankind and its brainpower, its creativity.

But -  and it must be noticed but turned away from with determination another creature came into being.

WHAT?   What seems to be so minor so small and hidden -  it began to creep amid language and poison its once beautiful creativity. Plus it began to dilute what Humankind's ability to lead the way from our glorious mood for each and everyone able to call themselves HUMAN.

The world, our Earth, was gradually being turned inside out on its now ugly head.  By what?

Two detestable letters!   Ignore them, Delete them.  They are the enemy!

Assassinate AI.  Destroy itIT IS MAKE BELIEVE BURNING IN HELL.

Hello Emma. I have been writing for a long time. I am in my forties now, and I know there are younger writers on this site who have been here far longer than I have. Still, I have been writing since before many of them were even born. And even when I stopped posting.. I never stopped writing. Once a writer, you are always a writer. It lives in the soul. I always welcome young writers and try my best to encourage them.

When I was younger, writing poetry was not considered cool. I was teased for it, especially by my own sisters. By the time we reached high school, one of my sisters started taking my poems and pretending they were hers. She received recognition for work I wrote, and even read my poems in front of the whole school and had them published in the school newspaper. I was happy my words were appreciated, yet sad because she was credited for poems she once laughed at.

Even now, my sister takes my poems and reads them aloud at poetry groups in her area. That is when I decided to start publishing my work, even if it is only on WritersCafe and other poetry sites. This is a new age we are living in and I am still learning how to navigate all the computer stuff. I honestly would not always know what is AI unless something clearly stands out, like those strange question mark symbols that sometimes appear in the writing. Even then, I would not be completely sure. I would never want to accuse anyone, especially a younger writer, of using AI without knowing.

I would imagine those tools would be paid for, and I really do not want to spend money just to have something write for me, when the whole point is to write so the world does not feel so heavy. There is nothing better than writing in my own diary and letting the ink bleed into the paper. It's almost like a blood-letting, a release to everything I hold inside, especially, as a young person.

We have to remember why we joined this site in the first place. I joined around 2014 to read poetry and connect with other writers. Some of my favorite writers are no longer active here, and I heard David Lewis Paget passed away. Valentine and Wordman were among the first writers who welcomed me when I was new to the site. In my family, I am the only one who writes poetry, so finding this community meant a great deal to me.

It almost sounds like something an AI would write just to confuse us. What is real anymore. So now the younger generation of poets will not be considered poets simply because they were born in a time when AI exists, even though it only became a serious tool around 2019. Smh.

I am hearing that people do not like getting reviews anymore because everyone is paranoid that an AI might have written them. It is wild. Maybe we all need to go back to writing and reviewing simply, " hey, nice write" " good job" because anything too thoughtful or too in depth gets labeled as artificial.

It is strange to live in a world where honesty looks suspicious and depth looks mechanical. But real writers will always know the difference. And anyone trying to get a young writer to quit, should burn in hell!

AI will destroy creativity for many but perhaps hopefully not the true artist and poet. At least not forever. There will still be some like you who use the creative power of words or paint, or dance, or machinery even in a true and honest way to upset, to wonder and to love. Things that Artificial so called Intelligence could never ever do.

Humans use vehicles because they are slowly losing their ability to walk. That was the logic of RJ in Over the Hedge. And it's not a completely untrue observation. Why think when you have a machine that will think for you? My reply is 'the same reason we love'. Love and thought are their own rewards that only lead to greater understanding of self and others. But AI will never love and it will never think outside its prescribed program. AI can't color outside the box and I've been drawing pictures since I was big enough to hold my own crayon, never seen the box and never cared for coloring books as an art form. But it's chaff to the wheat in comparison for me. AI often struggles with inflection and articulation because it has no feeling. Feeling is what poetry is all about.

Language Vs The Predator (AI)
Poetry is one of the victims.
I almost wish we could go back to writing poems with a quill like Emily Dickinson did.
I wonder what she would think of all of this. I think she would shed a tear.
