Framed

A Poem by emmajoygreen
"

repeated thoughts

"
Landscape framed by window
divided by the length of the middle

to the left
green fields scarred by clumps of dock
edged sweet with late day sheen
hawthorn hedges, Spring sprouting -
dashing dogs and owner
dare and stroll worn snaking paths
fully aware - examining with sighs
trees lacing a smear of distant hills
mottled cattle gently grazing
sunset streaked clouds
floating the paleness of

to the right
across the applique-look of land
determined walker strides
hands pocketed, head down, destined
to make it home for steaming tea;
proud hills reach skyward as
tractors, four wheeled drives et al
flash in opposite directions
each viewed across frost bleached fence
Winter's fingerprint, a chore
to come, to leach and lacquer

Landscape - framed by window
I'm the length looking from the middle

A very, very visual piece of writing which had me right there with you pulling up a chair and seeing it with you. Nicely done Emma Joy.

Gentle, polite and sincere company is always appreciated, sir. Many thanks. :)
I loved the poems that paint pictures, and you literally went for it. This is a painting and it's a beautiful distraction from work for a few minutes this morning. Lovely indeed!

Many thanks for your appreciative review! Wishing you a peaceful and happy 4th April!
A quietly observant piece that turns an ordinary view into something reflective and human.
That final line lands with subtle weight—the speaker caught between worlds, belonging to both and neither.

Thank you so very much, Thomas. Enjoy the day, sir.
This is my kind of descriptive poem but described far better than I could do. Seeing yourself reflected in the outside world through a window. Simply superb descriptions. And that final line. Beyond any words of mine.
