Sunsets In Cemeteries

Sunsets In Cemeteries

A Poem by Nicholas Hagenschneider

the day is dimming

as the dead begin to wake

the sun is slipping

it goes down for nights sake

it slips beneath the horizon

eyes watch as the clouds glow

beautiful is gone again

and horror begins to grow

the stars are out tonight

hiding in a deep shade of blue

staring with nocturnal sight

as the darkness grew

the seconds ticking away

hope clings to the time remaining

your mind begs to stay

as it hold close what it's containing

your soul no longer lingers

but it watched as you fell

throught the tips of your fingers

through the corners of your hell

the stars are out tonight

hiding in a deep shade of blue

staring with nocturnal sight

as the darkness grew
