Splinter (Part Two)

Splinter (Part Two)

A Poem by Nicholas Hagenschneider

this was once real

a frozen happiness

a time so surreal

i'll look back to say i remembered this

as for the splinter

this frame was never broken

when i look into this picture

i'll know it's a token

i can see your face now

i can see your pain

please show me how

to remove the strain

set fire to this photo

vanish into ash

set fire to this photo

turn around and crash

this was once real

a frozen moment

what do you feel

this time of painful torment

i'll miss this

as you melt away

a frozen bliss

a time that couldn't stay

i can see your face now

i can see your pain

please show me how

to remove the strain

set fire to this photo

vanish into ash

set fire to this photo

turn around and crash

i'll miss this

as you melt away

a frozen bliss

a time that couldn't stay
