THE STARVATION THEORY.A Poem by Emunah June.I was never hungry for they force fed me their lies I was never hungry at the age of twenty-five. My stomach never rumbled when the plate came to the table the hunger pains never came when they said "prove it, if you're able". I stood inside the kitchen with ingredients in hand screenshots full of poison recipes they'd understand. My body shook and shivered when I bared them every course so they'd listen to my cries for help but they ate up every morsel. They licked each of their fingers and cast a wicked grin, they clattered all their silverware and demand a new meal begin. So I fed them each and every truth I oven baked every lie I broiled each pleading gasp and deep fried every cry. I served them all my story and begged them to listen but selfishly they denied my truth and didn't even tip! © 2023 Emunah June.Author's Note
