V - BLUSH.

V - BLUSH.

A Chapter by Emunah June.

how much longer
will i have to sit
with keys between my fingers
on public transit?

how many cars
with faceless strangers
give way to racing thoughts
and pepper in a can?

i was born with
breasts and hips ;
for this, the nights
rob my peace by name.

This poem makes me so sad. I understand, no I should not say understand, let me say I am aware of the danger inherent in just being female. I have dated but a few women, and two of those disclosed being raped by family members.

I adore how you write. You write with the skill of the ancient poets. You make the reader see your thoughts. This poem dear Emunah told a real story. I liked how you questions life. Thank you dear poet for sharing the amazing poetry.
