PARALLEL PLAY.

PARALLEL PLAY.

A Poem by Emunah June.

sweet autumn eyes,
how i adore the amber glow
that fills the spaces
just for me.

i live for the bass
in your voice from the kitchen;
gold chain on your neck
to remind me who you are.

a hand to hold
and a body to warm,
how i crave the spirit
within.

a fascinating thought
to have met a mind
i wish to tell
every secret of my inner universe.

and yet,
i am perfectly content
simply doing nothing
at all.

Author's Note

Emunah June.
My husband and I had the day off from work today, and I found it so fascinating how we can both be in the same room with each other and, yet, not have to say a single thing to have a good time. I simply find peace just being in his orbit.

Lucky you, that you can describe love so well. Some people search their whole livies and don't find this.

First off, well written. So well written, it caused me pain to read. I was married twice, and both marrriages were wonderful in many respects, but did not quite reach the level of perfection you describe in your last two stanzas. THEN, a couple years ago I met via the internet, the woman of my dreams, a woman I had only ever met in novels. She lived half way across the country. We did rendezvous, we did spend wonderful time together, and briefly I had what you describe. Alas, in the end she could not leave her past behind, a future together was not to be. I wrote of her in my poem A Ruin of Love. If the job of the poet is to make others feel, please know you have made me feel deeply. It sounds as if you and your husband have a beautiful relationship, may it last forever! MSB

I completely understand this situation, and often can identify with it...conversation isn't always in the picture, sometimes just being together in silence is enough to treasure.....
lovely....
