IX - MACARON.

IX - MACARON.

A Chapter by Emunah June.

i wish to be a string
unraveled so thin
it's a garment never seen ;
an outfit never worn.

to be threaded so divine,
gilded at the teeth
down the throat
and back up again for this.

a rosegold array of stars and stripes
buttoned at the hem
and lowered past my thighs
for porcelain's sake ; for pretty's honor.

charming clicks of heels forlorn
and dressed forgotten in closets closed.
to be nothing is to be more,
to be more is to be loved.

a glass half empty
with dishes unwashed ;
meals abandoned
delicacy ignored.

so wait for me until i'm gone.
shed bodies by the bakery,
and remember the name of ghosts
in pink, and bones online.
