SSRI.

SSRI.

A Poem by Emunah June.

awoke at three AM
in a bed too big
feeling way too small.

sweet autumn gaze
resting his weary mind.

with a hand on my chest
to measure loss of breath.

and i cry out for my God
who seems so far away,
nestled in ivory
while i'm coated in bramble.

thick black tendrils
strangling the ribcage.

inconvenient pressure.
tachycardia.

so i walk on kitchen tile
to black box midnight orange,
pop the lid
and pop the pill.

this isn't supposed to hurt,
but the shame doesn't seem to know that.

An interesting poem....seems to be about taking something to "take away the pain" of life.....

pop the lid and pop the pill.....

Thanks for sharing....

Feel free to stop by and check out one of my poems...

It doesn't ask to be liked, it asks to be heard, and that’s powerful.
