MY OH MOTHER!

MY OH MOTHER!

A Poem by Emunah June.

my oh mother,
how savory is your anger
in righteous meal you gorge yourself?

my oh mother,
how warm is your coat of arms
that slather your words like sharpened blade?

my oh mother,
how tight is the chain
you've wrapped around the non-believers?

my oh mother,
is the absence so fond
you feel comfort in your chaos?

my oh mother,
how angry will you be
to know i chose another way?

This poem is powerful and emotional. It shows a deep, intense relationship with the mother... full of anger, control, and confusion. The questions are strong and meaningful, and the words paint a clear picture of struggle and independence. Really well written and thought-provoking.
