CUBIC ZIRCONIA.

CUBIC ZIRCONIA.

A Poem by Emunah June.

there is a radiance in me
created at conception ;
a brilliance smothered
under guts and gore.

a silver lining
in trembling fingers.

and the oracle
of a miracle
that i will never see
says to me --

a hundred leaders
borne from sinews
and sunders,
borne of me
in nauseous blooming.

this radiance of mine,
bursting and burning
against swollen organs
longs to be realized.

but between you and i
i don't know
what i fear worst ;

bleeding something of value
or not.

It's not my favorite movie, but, have you ever seen Prometheus (2012 i think)? The opening scene in particular, your poem reminded me of that.
(you don't have to watch the whole movie...)
here's the part I was referencing

A sorrowful read, Em, made more so because of its truth. And I must agree with Jacob, too, Our "leaders" -- we should not call them that; they don't lead us, they drag us screaming into their bloody realities, especially the one we have here, and I fear we will all be soaked in our own blood and that of those we love before it's all over.

Yes, nauseous blooming...a hundred leaders...many of them mistakes...including the one we have now.
