THE CONJOINED TWINS OF LOVE & SORROW.

in a sterile theater 

of grass and grime,

we lay here under

honeyed stars.

we feel so deep

but are shallow still,

a fish in lakes

of fire and flood.

to long is to be-long

and something of a kind

cards on an oak wood table

folded into Malboro smoke.

i love you

but i mourn you.

i feel your magic

but loathe your perfomance.

pulmonary pause

and an inflow of air.

this truth in expanding timelines:

this is the oil of existence.

I have to agree with the previous commentor...You are an amazing writer. Your turn of a phrase is unique and joyful to read and then play in the mind...the speaker in this poem might "loathe your performance"
but I cheer yours as a poet...a fresh and eloquent voice on the site.

I mean that as a married couple you occasionally do need some space from your partner . You have probably realised that yourself (by now)
