AGREEABLE.

AGREEABLE.

A Poem by Emunah June.

shrink myself
to minor and mineral,
to dust, to echo
to wide open space.

and silence myself
to Sunday preachings,
to converse with mice
i've never met.

lonely in rooms
full of faces i know.
nothing makes sense,
but everything is there.

wrap my mouth
in tight pink ribbon,
tie my wrists
the very same.

and bourne is obedience,
under ever dim blues
and sentimental still
for the world i dreamed of,

never an occupant.
but at least
i'm now
agreeable.
