BALLOON.

BALLOON.

A Poem by Emunah June.

your love

has made me a balloon --

open me up

inflate my ego

tie me up

and let me go!

all that effort

for a pretty little thing

just to watch me

float away

and probably think

of another one.

oh my goodness Emunah! that's brutal. The satire is stinging yet there is a gentle acceptance of a truth discovered in a difficult experience ... the balloon is a wonderful metaphor, says i ... nice work!

How cleverly you expose the lover's flippant behavior. I've seen this all my life, and wondered how they usually get away with it. If things worked the way I'd like, girls would say, "Oh, no, I'm not going be another one of your balloons!"
