MEGAPHONE BABY.

MEGAPHONE BABY.

A Poem by Emunah June.

Madam Highlighter,
we see you!

you surely feel things
so deeply,
crying out the ocean
you fish for compliments in.

a lot on your plate,
yet you're starved for attention.
a dopamine fiend ;
a fan of the chase.

i wonder if you
paint your pictures
nestled comfortably
on your fainting sofa.

fan yourself,
babe.
clutch your pearls
with paper fan.

you'll be just fine.

Yep! I think I know her! 😀
Turns every story into an "I" story, that she is reminded of, no matter what was being talked about.
I can even picture her walking in measured steps to pick the almost perfect moment to fall onto her fainting sofa.... almost, as she crashes the ground while claretpoursforth from a rather nasty head wound.
So desperate for attention she discounted by a single step! Doh!
Well, we can hope! 😀

Love the fish metaphor. She probably does paint her pictures, but her sofa is fainting and she may be clutching her last petals of fanning away addiction.
The last line can go both ways...encouragement that is real, or encouragement that is just window dressing from a speaker who knows the reality is she will not get better.
