This is a big decision here...many of us want something more than our money can buy.... that is envy....
if we could afford to buy it, then people would envy us... it depends on the amount of envy I guess.... some of us need to be envied because it gives us a certain amount of power......or one must keep up with the Jone's...some can't afford it so we stew about it, wishing we had more money to buy it...either way the word envy can either be resentful, or wanting to be the same.....
NICE!

Another cry out in the night, the pain surfaces again. But there is no new bauble there, I think, but certainly something, and is it you addressing another or yourself? Only you can answer that.
I think I am addressing whoever needs to be addressed! I hope you enjoyed the piece. Hehe.

Aww, that’s pretty disappointing. Well, then that’s good too!
The guy getting a flashy car because he wants the chicks goes way back in time. The reasons you mention are all valid, but doesn't include them all. (I love sports cars and motorcycles simply because they're so much fun to drive) In high school, I knew a twenty-five year-old guy who always drove something new and flashy. He'd hang out with us teenage boys so he could meet underage girls, then "take them for a ride". A child molester, he got away with it forever. (No longer, I imagine--he's dead) Sorry to get off track.
Emunah, this is an interesting poem. I love cars, as you know just bought one, so that’s where my mind immediately went. But then I said to myself wait a minute, did she specifically mention an auto? No. I read and reread this and realized it could be about many things, even an expensive beautiful woman. I’m guessing this is very personal. You have me thinking and wondering about “the thing twice envied.”
Cheers dear.

Right on the nose! I had a rather interesting conversation with a friend of mine yesterday about life and how everyone in this day and age strives to be the owner of the "sports car", the thing that everyone around them wants. Be it a woman, a man, a car, a home, clothing, etc -- everyone wants name brand, bigger and better. So thankful you saw what I was going for!
