STARDUST.

STARDUST.

A Poem by Emunah June.

healing energy
in brilliant semicircles
like a pill of perfection
and the medicine of peace.

i rest alone
in planet null
numb to the noise
of the party outside.

laying in a bathtub
drunk and defiant
to a world tapping cards
on glass tables of stardust.

flying high on spent rent
under glittering excuses
and glimmering banners
of broken promises.

we've been here before,
but we tend to forget,
and maybe that is why
we'll be right here tomorrow.

Emunah June.
Had a conversation with a friend who talked with me about their experience as a recovering addict. This is what became of it.

Yes, we do fall into the traps we make ourselves and wonder why we got here again.
But life comes with many addictions and some are way more harmful than others. They all have one thing in common though, that no matter the thought it doesn't let you take in the reality of what tomorrow will really look like.

I feel this one. It hits hard.

As I am an addict I get it. I love some of the lines: a world tapping cards on glass tables of stardust. Multiple interpretations there! Flying high on spent rent, like that line too. We’ve been here before but we tend to forget, boy I know that one. Good to hear from you Emunah. Well written!

Wow...this is an amazing piece...soft as the clouds...the way you portray this experience...and though it may last for a while, this ephemeral place may only be temporary... and easy to return to when life gets tough...difficult to shake off forever.... thank you for sharing this scene....very meaningful...
Warmly, B

You write so beautifully...it is an honor to read your work.
Amid the messes of life...we do show up the next day, don't we?

That is how I would expect when recovering for an addiction to be
