I need you

like the sunflower needs,

the sun in the sky,

like the ocean needs,

the force of the wind

to turn its weary tides.

 

My lips need you

for their existence

for without you to kiss,

they have nothing to do but sigh.

 

My eyes need you,

to look upon your beauty

every morning, noon and nigh.

For if they couldn't see you,

a thousand tears they would cry.

 

My heart needs you,

to keep it beating strong,

to keep it warm and alive,

for if you ever left it

it would surely slowly die.
