Just for fun

 

 

Sweet music to my ears,

it drowns my sorrows,

consoles my fears.

 

I listen when i,m happy,

i listen when i,m sad,

i listen when my life is good,

i listen when its bad.

 

From Travis to beethoven,

it fills me with joy,

i,ll listen to Cliff,

the bachelour boy.

 

I also like Tom Jones,

with his gyrating hips,

Oasis are fantastic,

like Jarvis Cocker's lips.

 

Everybody loves it,

it forever grasps the nation,

music makes the world go round,

but we'll stop at Kylie and Jason.

 

If i didn't have my music,

a sorry state i,d be,

for it warms my very soul,

this thing called melody.

:) I like this, music is very important and I think it is great that you have written a poem about it. It is very present and has a lovely tempo, very easy to read ! Thank you for reviewing, like you I find it a bit difficult to write that type of poems; mainly because we are so used to use a lot of words: The challenge is to express a lot with few words, the reward is to be understood :D. You have a lovely way of writing !

I can totally relate to this!!! If I didn't have music, there would be a big part missing in me...
There are different types of songs for how i am feeling; you described the need for melody with such passion!!

Really, really good write. My husband has taught me much about music so I understand what you are saying here. Have to admit Tom Jones hips arent' such a bad thing to write about either! lol Windy
