Beautiful flower

I wrote this for my friends who sadly lost their daughter aged 9 months.. it is a very personal poem and very dear to my heart.

 

Like the brightest of petals,

they wither and die,

but their memories linger,

and we dont question why.

We have beautiful thoughts,

in our hearts, that live on,

full of sunshine and smiles,

laughter and fun.

 

A snowdrop, when the snow falls,

A bluebell, when Autumn calls,

A sunflower, when the sky's blue,

a flower, was how i thought of you.

 

A daffodil in the springtime,

A freesia, to make my heart smile,

A honeysuckle, that climbs the wall,

such beautiful flowers, i give you them all.

 

Though the pain that we feel,

seems it won't go away,

in time it subsides with,

each passing day.

It dosen't mean we'll forget,

or cease to care,

it only means we've accepted,

you're happy somewhere.

 

You suffered so bravely,

never making a fuss,

now you're dancing with angels,

i wish you were dancing with us.

Sleep peacefully sweetheart,

you'll always be here,

deep in our thoughts,

and within every tear.

 

There's a white rose, in my garden tonight,

it looks so pretty, it shines so bright,

i'll pick it tomorrow and give it to you,

to say goodnight, Ella Grace,

we will always love you.

wow, sad. great lil' memerial piece, I've never lost anyone--yet, & when the time comes I'm sure I 'll write my a*s off, & hope someone will do the honors for me. "now you're dancing with angels,

i wish you were dancing with us." these lines here, for me personally, I'd like it to say

"now you're dancing with angels,
Instead of dancing with us"

What an incredibly moving poem. This is a beautiful tribute to Ella Grace which eminates from a sad and mournful heart. You did a wonderful job of portraying the sadness of the loss, but more importantly the love and light that shined from this little one for those who were lucky enough to be in her presence.

Impossible to review a piece like this. This is a beautiful poem. It couldn't have been an easy one to write and it wasn't easy to read either because it is so sad. You have put this together very well, it is a gorgeous tribute and farewell and I do think she is happy somewhere in a garden full of beautiful flowers.
