Lets save the world

you and me

can you remember

the classroom

me and you

lashings of chalk

lashings of talk

the whale was our

destiny

like the  frog

like the

tree!

We kissed

at the school gate

we laughed

by the bikeshed

we smoked

and drank

bitter sweet cider

but we loved

and lived

the same life.

That was  then

this is now

do you still love me??

I see a little bit of the invincibility, the resiliency of youth in here that you shared with your friend- but im not seeing a thread of meaning in this poem, it seems a little unmoored and incomplete. You don't have anything of the present that you mention at the end of the poem to compare with the past. Maybe this poem could use some more development?
