PomegranatesA Poem by AubreyPomegranates are delicious, some cannot eat them without destroying them thoughI fell for him. I trusted him. I gave him my pomegranate for him to consume. He destroyed it. He ripped it open, violently taking the seeds. Spreading the juice everywhere. He looked as if I could frame him for murder. All he wanted were my seeds. I left him, taking my pomegranate with me. I let it grow again, I let her heal and strengthen. Then, I met her. She was so sweet. She helped me heal my pomegranate. until there were nothing but scars left. I fell in love with her. I gave her my pomegranate, fearful she'd destroy my fruit just as he did before. Yet, as I gave it to her, she looked at it in awe, carefully taking it from my hands. She slowly cut open my pomegranate, careful to not hurt anything. She scooped the seeds, Slowly, Gently. She ate them, one by one, savoring the taste. When she finished, She gave me her pomegranate. © 2025 Aubrey |
